“Why Is It so Stressful to Talk Politics With the Other Side ?”

Because “they” fully believe nobody has any rights unless “they” say we do.

Because “they” will lie, cheat, steal and do anything necessary (isn’t that right Hillary ?) - while looking you straight in the eyes - to achieve the agenda (totalitarian control).

Because the lives of others - especially those who dissent even in the slightest manner - are meaningless to “them” ; and ‘all those bitter clingers need to be put in camps’.

I said something a few times to a few different elected officials (one CongressCritter, a few state legislators, on down to local) from “the other side”….. “Ma’am/Sir, I offer this with 100% conviction: I will stand next to you, shoulder to shoulder, in order to defend your rights and stop those who would prevent you from the free exercise of your rights to speak, or bring harm to you, etc. However, I know you would not offer the same to me and those like me. To me, that’s the defining item in our differences and as an American, that is almost beyond my comprehension and is one of the truly sad and dangerous things we’re facing as a republic.”

“They” all had no answer, but one thought of a response - told me to go eff myself. Lovely. That was a person elected to our state senate (not my district) and thankfully in the minority party.
