This is 100% about the state government having 100% control over 100% of Califailure citizens lives.
The nudge - Cass Sunstein’s book - provide two (three maximum) choices to people, none of them good for individuals or rights - use the media to promote the most favored to control the most people - and one will be implemented.
By fiat/executive order - from the ABC News article…. “…..in one of his first acts in office, Newsom ordered the state to take over the Medicaid program’s prescription drug benefits, a program that affects 13 million people.
…..and when the state gets its own prescription program, the typical Democrat government will move rapidly then to ban all non-state-distributed meds.
This is going beyond socialism, it’s totalitarianism. Obey, or nothing for you. Not even air to breathe.
This insanity is why millions of Californians have left or are thinking about it. Including one of the editors of this site, even. They are, or soon will be, political refugees.
