    Excerpt:

Then, forgetting who did the killing at Kent State, O’Rourke argued in an appearance there that only the government can be trusted with firearms. O’Rourke’s ignorance includes what an “assault weapon” actually is — “scary-looking” is not a legal standard – and his fuzzy notion that federal agents might go door-to-door to confiscate millions of legal firearms is constitutionally, politically and practically preposterous.

The problem is that we are living in a post-constitutional republic. It is rule by the worst people, a kakocracy.

Our rulers view the Second Amendment and other portions of the U.S. Constitution that limit the powers of government as inconvenient, antiquated, or simply irrelevant.

While the author of the linked article is generally correct, I’d disagree with his claim that R.F. O’Rourke and his pals on the left are guilty of “ignorance.” That is too generous. They are intelligent enough to understand what they are proposing is unconstitutional and extralegal.

So what? They don’t care. It’s the Living Constitution, right? Any Dem president decreeing this by executive order can be assured of an amen chorus from #mediajackals, their professoriat allies, etc.

Combine R.F. O’Rourke’s announced plans with his fellow Democrats’ suggestions of court-packing, and the future starts to look a bit tumultuous. President Trump won’t be in office forever.
