    Excerpt:

The bright light in this morass of rough justice and partisan slander is Mr. Barr himself. He knew what was coming and appears unfazed and unwilling to be rolled into meekness. The country is lucky to have a top law-enforcement officer who cares more about justice and his department’s reputation than about the former officials who abused its power. The more they howl, the more obvious their guilt.

This is a fine opinion article, as far as the WSJ goes. The problem is I don’t think the WSJ editorial page allows its writers to go far enough.

The most interesting word in the linked opinion article is the last one: guilt. It seems to me that approximately no Deep State members have paid a price for their misdeeds, and probable crimes. Meanwhile many have benefited.

I like what I hear from Attorney General Barr but talk only goes so far. Actions speak louder. How many Deep State members have spent even a day behind bars for their offenses against America? Even before this, when Lois Lerner was unlawfully targeting conservative groups at the IRS wasn’t she allowed to resign with a full pension? If the answer is zero, when will this count change?
