This is sad. I’m reminded of JWR’s lament from last week. He said California was a “paradise” in its golden years. It has fallen a long way since.

Importing tens of millions of foreign-born residents, who have embraced leftist identity politics and awarded the Democrat Party a permanent majority in the People’s Republic, is a big reason for this decline.

A few generations ago there was white flight from the inner city to the suburbs. Now this looks like white flight from California to other states. In Los Angeles, 58 percent of residents speak a language other than English at home, meaning English speakers have become a minority in Los Angeles. Native-born Californians might, reasonably, choose to live somewhere where they can talk with just about all of their neighbors, and not only 4 out of 10 of them. They understand that in a decade, that number might fall to 2 of 10.

The linked article says the “three-member Bailey family moved to Prosper, Texas, in 2017, seeking a reprieve from Southern California’s high price tags.”

Texas is a big state. There are lots of cheaper places the Bailey family could have moved. They could have moved to El Paso, Texas, which is 80% hispanic. But they chose Prosper, Texas, which is 80% white. I suspect this is no accident.
