Let’s assume for the moment that Democrats are not entirely stupid. Meaning that they could, reasonably, predict that moving forward with their impeachment enquiry would not advance the cause of bipartisan comity.

So they chose crass political maneuvering (over a nothingburger) over moving forward with their anti-self defense, anti-gun, anti-normal American laws.
