This is a good writeup and even a good writeup by CNN.
I wonder how much real-world impact this will have: I doubt we’re going to see a bunch of AR-15 lowers available for shipping direct to your PO Box anytime soon. (I’d love to be wrong, of course.)
Even if this right to buy an AR-15 lower exists, it is not a constitutional right but a statutory one, and statues can be amended. A month ago, pre-Deep State driven impeachment, this Congress seemed poised to do something on guns, and the president seemed ready to sign that something. If this district court’s reasoning gets traction, look for the anti-constitutionalists to demand that Congress enact the Sensible Assault Weapon Control Act: “We must make it clear that assault weapons and their components must not be sold through mail order catalogs and Internet retailers! We need robust mandatory background checks!”
Does anyone think that President Trump would not sign the Sensible Assault Weapon Control Act?
