    This has been going on a while, probably since the standard capacity magazine ban in the 1990s. At the very least it’s well known to California gun owners who have been paying attention.

    I enjoyed this line:

    State agents for years have conducted undercover operations and arrested dozens of Californians for bringing illegal guns and ammunition magazines into the state.

    So California taxpayers have been paying state DOJ police to arrest “dozens” of their fellow citizens over a multi-year period? What’s that, one arrest every two months for the crime of owning a piece of machined (or formed and welded sheet metal) that’s perfectly legal on the other side of the border?

    I’m sure the People’s Republic tax-serfs feel safer already.
