The linked article said the violent home invasion took place about 20 miles east of Tampa, Florida, on a street called Old Welcome Road. Google Street view shows it as a tree-lined street with some beautiful ranch houses on multi-acre lots with white split rail fences. Many properties are gated.
This is not where you might expect a violent home invasion to take place. But that’s precisely the point. Criminals don’t give advance notice. Attacks can happen in any neighborhood. If it weren’t for this pregnant mother’s AR-15, a memorial service for her and the rest of her family would be taking place right about now. (Think about this when R.F. “Beto” O’Rourke wants to send the SWAT team in to confiscate this mother’s AR-15.)
Too bad she was only able to shoot dead one of the two armed home invaders. I hope she and her husband go to the range for more training. The other guy might come back.
