Someone’s gotta pay for it, and that someone under the Pelosi plan may soon be the rest of the nation’s taxpayers who don’t live in California, New York, New Jersey or Illinois and who have never voted to take on this unsustainable fiscal burden. Residents of all four states have been fleeing for years. The reigning theory of Democratic governance regards the loss of productive private capacity as irrelevant to their goals.
It’s a win-win-win situation from the perspective of leftist coastal (but I repeat myself) Democrat elites.
They force endless lockdowns that hit politically unfavored institutions the hardest: churches are bankrupt, gun stores and ranges can’t pay staff and close for good, gyms where normal Americans (without private clubs or at-home weight rooms) go are shut down by county healthocrats. State tax revenues shrink. Meanwhile state spending increases!
Leftist coastal Democrat elites demand a federal bailout for their own partisan political idiocy. If Trump is the president and says no, then clearly he’s heartless and a Nazi and a whitesupremacist heteronormativefascist and probably an ableist too. He wants millions of the dark skinned to die! That becomes a Democrat campaign platform. If Biden is the president, then they get a bailout at the expense of conservative states.
