In an article today, Dallas Observer reporters Stephen Young and Meredith Lawrence wrote, in their own words, that Democratic Dallas state Sen. Royce West is “a consistent supporter of Second Amendment rights.” (He’s now running for U.S. Senate.)

Royce West voted against HB 910 to allow open carry of handguns.

Royce West voted against SB11 to allow concealed handguns on college campuses.

Royce West voted against SB1467 to encourage gun manufacturers to move to Texas.

No wonder he got a 13 percent rating from the NRA.

Now, this Democratic politician may be a decent and kind man. But it is bizarre to see Stephen Young and Meredith Lawrence claim, without proof, he is “a consistent supporter of Second Amendment rights.”
