This is an interesting look at the Californixodus (pardon the expression) because it looks at housing costs and migration trends between California and Idaho. It doesn’t dwell on the creeping totalitarianism of the People’s Republic. Perhaps it’s now too obvious to spend much time on.

While much of the inbound migration to Boise comes from elsewhere in Idaho, many newcomers are from high-cost metros on the west coast. Per census data, 17,000 of the roughly 80,000 new Idaho residents in 2016 came from California. According to an analysis by Realtor.com, homebuyers from 82 California ZIP codes made up 4.5 percent of the page views for Boise real estate; many of them were concentrated near the Bay Area.
California homeowners are cashing out, picking up, and moving inland, pushing up prices in other states as they look for more affordable places to live and to retire. Boise is just one of many cities seeing this influx, which some have labeled “Californication.” But the story, and the underlying demographics, are a little more complicated.
If the Californians moving to Boise and other places in Idaho are moving for the right reasons, and will choose not to vote for gun-grabbing social justice warrior leftists, this is a good thing. No state is permanently red by Heaven’s decree, and the forces of darkness are trying to make inroads even in Idaho.
But if the Californians moving to Idaho take their voting patterns with them, this is dangerous. As a prophylactic measure, the Idaho legislature might want to take some steps to preserve the good thing the state has going on right now (more state preemption of anti-constitutional stupid local laws, erecting procedural hurdles to enacting anti-gun anti-self defense laws, etc.).
