    I suspect the limiting factor will be ICU beds and ventilators, not hospital beds.

    If this pandemic continues its current path and you need to be intubated, then it probably won’t matter what state you live in. If there are 500 COVID-19 positive patients per 10,000 people who need critical care, it doesn’t matter whether there are 20 beds per capita or 70 beds per capita. There still won’t be nearly enough.

    Remember northern Italy is the nation’s wealthiest area, with more medical resources to throw at the problem. It hasn’t had much an effect.

    Time to hunker down.
