The left never accepted President Trump as the actual winner of the last election. They can’t comprehend that there are so many deplorables that he could be the actual winner of that many electoral college votes. It’s like the old saw: “I only know one person who voted for Nixon.” How could either man have won?
Because the deplorables voted the incorrect way according to our elites, their votes don’t count. Their votes only count when they vote the correct way! Therefore the election was illegitimate and President Trump must be removed. One politician elected as a Republican even said the president should be executed.
The danger is what Victor Davis Hanson correctly points out:
Trump’s critics have become emboldened, Left and Right. The Drudge Report has flip-flopped and is as anti-Trump as Vox or Slate. Many at National Review call for or anticipate impeachment without much regret. Likewise, some at Fox News—Shepard Smith, Andrew Napolitano, and Chris Wallace—are nonstop critics of Trump and hardly disguise their contempt.
The leftist media is on uppers, and completely ecstatic in moth-to-flame fashion, as if it were May 2017 again and Trump’s demise was a day away.
Drudge was pro-Trump, or at least reasonably pro-Trump, in 2016. That’s not the case today. Conservatives should filter what they see there accordingly.
